Hello Pink Bloggy Friends....I hope today you each had a great day....I did. I created away in my cozy little studio while the tea kettle hummed away, below in the kitchen. This was definitely a day for TEA! It was dark with low clouds and chilly, not at all like yesterday where the temps were in the high 50's, warm and summy and no wind. Hubby and I worked for several hours in the yard corraling in more leaves...our big maple tree in the front has only lost about half of its leaves. I worked in cleaning the last three gardens and what a good feeling that is! After bending and stooping and raking I headed right for the Advil when I came it....I knew I would not be able to move by evening if I didn't! lol! Ahhh getting older is such fun!

I wanted to show you what I finished today and listed at THE RUFFLED ROSE ( Click on the picture for a larger look..)

The top is adorned with my ribbon embroidery cabbage rose and leaves and a pretty olde rhinestone button....the pillow is all soft pinks and wine and creams to go with your pretty pink and white homes....

And, I have 3 Yards, in two pieces, of pretty light weight upholstery fabric that I will not be using....I believe this is retired now and I still love it...I just changed my mind with my decorating scheme....you know how that goes!!!

If you are interested you can find it at my Etsy Shop

Pink Saturday ~ Woo Hoo ~

Hello Pink Saturday Pals....I am a little late in getting this on as I could not get on the internet yesterday evening! I finally gave up, lit the candles in the bath and jumped into a fragrant bubble bath....computers can get me frazzled faster than anything I know!!!

I hope you all had a great week and are having fun browsing at Beverly's visiting all the wonderful blogs that celebrate pink today....She is our most gracious host!

I did lots of different things this week and the week flew by....Here are some of the strawberries I made....some have ribbon embroidery, pearls, vintage posies, ribbons, old laces and pretty fabrics.....the ornament is unscented. It is just a pretty ornament that would look sweet almost anywhere for a little accent...not just on the Christmas tree.

SOLD
The picture below truly enchants me with its colors....I love the fresh green with the pop of pink in the bouquet.....I am not sure I could live with the wall paper, but I thought the picture very pretty!

And, below, is one end of the top of my Hoosiers Cabinet....I love the pitcher on top with the pretty roses. It was supposed to have a lid, but somewhere before me, it got broken I assume and so I got it for $3.00! The box behind it is a vintage candy box that I have had forever and the ruby glass candle holder is from my sweet granddaughter, Lilly. The little Mickey and Minnie are from a trip my daughter took to Disneyland and she brought them back to me, knowing how much a fan of theirs I am!!

And below....some of the many tulips I need to get planted while the weather is being nice! I think I will get started this afternoon as it is beautiful outside!

~~HOORAY~ALL PLANTED~~~
Thank you for stopping by and thank you for the comments....I love comments!
HAPPY PINK SATURDAY and have a happy week!

~PIllows And Storms~

Can you believe that the 4th of July is less than a week away? Spring and now summer just seem to be rushing down the road.....I just want to wrap a big pink ribbon around these days and pull them back and slow them down.....I love the long light evenings and summer walks and all that is summer....well not the bad storms so much...

We had yesterday, what seemed to be just a normal summer storm turn into a small tornado that tragically killed on person at a campground just fifteen minutes from our home. The news said the funnel appeared so suddenly there was no warning...the first reports were that four lost their lives, and thankfully, that turned out to be not true....we all look forward to spring and summer, but it brings its share of dangers with these storms that can become dangerous in the blink of an eye. I am a storm lover, so I do not sit and worry....we are prepared to run to the basement if the need arises, otherwise we are often on the porch enjoying the rain and lightening and cool breezes....

While working, yesterday on the little pillow, below, I could hear the rumblings of thunder off in the distance, but no storms...not until until early evening...

You can see more of this pillow on my website....
Where I sew gets warm as it is on the West side of the house and my machine is by two big windows....I would love to move the machine, but I think it is in the best possible place in this little turn of the century home of ours....so I adjust the blinds and the lace curtains and just keep a big glass of sweet tea or ice water close and keep right on stitching....which is where I am off to now....
Have a happy day!

Hello blog friends....I hope your week got off to a better start than mine...lol! Nothing serioius, just little bumps and all of a sudden I have gone stupid about putting a link on! What is this about?? I have put lots on, believe me, but now, when I think I have a link on I do not....I am doing some little thing wrong and not seeing it! Ugggg....I will study on it after dinner...

But...I was able to finish another Southern Belle Pillow..great for taking your mind off troubling matters....I love these little Belles and think they are so charming with ribbon embroidery....I love the ones with the full crocheted skirts, but I am all thumbs with a crochet hook, so this is my take with them....

~SOLD~

And, now my camera is not behaving....and the sun actually came out when I took these....I am going to have to go and give it a little sweet talk and get out my book to see why they are so dark....see,.... another little bump in the road...

Ribbon Embroidery Pillow

This is my first ebay listing in over five months...

I did a lot of ribbon embroidery while away...it is an art that I think is lovely and very rewarding to do!
This piece was worked on a pretty Mary Rose fabric with roses, roses, roses....

I followed the design adding ribbon posies among the little roses....there is a vintage rhinestone flower shaped button....four different hanky points on the front with sweet lace, two are tatted....two more vintage hanky points on the back....
This little darling has a very French feel with the soft pinks and greens and the beautiful blue....

We are having such a quiet, nice Sunday....the birds are chirping, the sun is out with big fluffy clouds...maybe a thunderstorm later?...people are mowing their lawns and I am loving padding around the house in my BARE FEET!

Wishing you sunshine and happiness....

CHEERS FOR THE RED WHITE AND BLUE AND HAPPY PINK SATURDAY, TOO

HAPPY 4th and WELCOME!
Be sure and visit Beverly of How Sweet The Sound... and all the sweet pink-a-licious blogs....thank you, Beverly for hosting this every single Saturday!

We painted our small cottage style bathroom a few days ago....I am so pleased with the pretty light robins eggs blue. It makes me think of the beach, and so I think of it as my beachy blue bathroom. The mirror I have had for over thirty years....I found it in a quaint antique shop up the coast from San Diego. It got a fresh coat of white paint to match all the crown molding, the wrap around shelf and all the rest of the trim in the bath. Of course we chose the hottest day with the highest humidity to do this! lol! The ceiling is done in the new paper that is embossed to look like tin. I love it! Wall paper on the ceiling in the bathroom, you are thinking? Yes! It does very well and painted is quite sturdy...even with the long hot showers.

The fanciful collectible pin cushion, the pretty sachets and the hanger cover can all by found on my EBAY I hope you will stop by for a visit.

I had a lot of enjoyment doing the silk ribbon embroidery over a piece of vintage crocheted doiley for this clothes cover.........It turned out too pretty to hide in the closet, don't you think?

Hope you all have a safe and fun 4th weekend and thank you for visiting today!
