~Happy Birthday, Dear Lilly Lu~

This is my darling granddaughter, Lilly Katherine, that turned ten on June 2nd. I am very remiss in not getting this on much sooner....these days just seem to fly by in a blur with me missing some very important dates....like this one. I got sidetracked looking for a really good picture of this exceptionally pretty little girl, and then who knows what else...
I am sorry I am late with this post, sweetie, but you know how much your "Mo" loves you!!!!!
This little gal is not only a beauty, she is my Tom Boy granddaughter. I know you can't believe this looking at her, but she is as at home in a pretty party dress as she is up a tree with the boys!
She is an honor student with a sweet, pretty singing voice and she likes to be in plays and was in The King And I. She is a fierce competitor in soccer as well as in softball, basketball, and she swims like a little fish!
She is lots of fun, smiles alot and has the sweetest giggle and is VERY ticklish!! We miss living close to her as we once did and we cherish the time we get to spend with this loving beautiful ten year old!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Lilly, you are sooooooo special and you bring so much sunshine to your Mo and Pa!
Lots of Love, Big Hugs, And Kisses

Happy Pink Saturday

Hi Everyone!
Be sure and visit Beverly our gracious host for this fun get together, to find lots and lots of scrumptious blogs to visit featuring PINK!
Thank you Beverly!

When I planted this Bleeding Heart I had no idea it would get so big and beautiful!
Below, are some of the dainty little blossoms up close.....aren't they just exquisite?
While I call Arizona my home, I have decided I need two homes because the Spring here is just perfect and the Summers aren't that bad. There is humidity, but it does not get to 115 degrees and higher that Arizona can see!!! We will spend the Spring and Summer here, in Michigan and then in October get the house and yard ready for Winter and then head for Arizona, where there are perfect temperatures 'til the end of March and then back to here. Now to find a way to afford that dream!! lol!

A pretty bright pink tulip that the squirrels left for me to enjoy. On the back step, this morning, the little devils had bitten off a bloom and left it on a step! Uggg!

Next week the Lily Of The Valley, below, will have their sweet fragrant blossoms open and the pink, about to pop open, buds of our Crab Apple tree, above, will, too, and I will show you how beautiful they are in all of their glory!

And, of course my darling Violets which just want to grow everywhere! How I love them and have little vases of them scattered about the house. I have had to ruthlessly thin them out, but I can never call them a weed. I LOVE my Violets! They and the Lily Of The Valley are some of the delights of living here.

Below are items I created this week and listed on eBay

A sweet as can be individual dessert server complete with a pretty faux cupcake and below, a plump and pretty pin cushion......

~~~~HELLO PINK SATURDAY~~~~
A Favorite Plate
Hi Everyone and Welcome! Be sure and visit Beverly of How Sweet The Sound for lots and lots of pinkalicious blogs to visit and a big Thank You, Bev, for hosting this wonderful event!!!
If you look closely, you will just a blush of pink here and there. Those are the Bleeding Heart buds which will be out for next Pink Saturday. Oh how I love exquisite Bleeding Hearts!!! They are one of Mother Natures masterpieces! There are clumps of violets and the green spires you see are finally!!! Lily Of The Valley making their entrance.
Just a few of the Tulips in various pinks. The tulips were thick all in this spot but we have Squirrels! They are the naughtiest little creatures! They ate off most of the Tulip flowers and just left them on the ground. Many did not come up this year and I suspect the reason....they were dug up by you know who!!!
Couldn't leave out a picture of the Violets. Violets are some of my most favorite flowers and here, in Michigan, they are considered Weeds!
You would not believe the fight I had with Scotts Lawn service, last year, to quit spraying them in the yard! They ignored the real weeds coming up and I called several times thru the summer to complain. They always mentioned the Violets. I told them my Husband and I are pulling the real weeds ourselves and your weed control was what we hired you for. So, you know what they did???? They sent a man out to really get those weeds and sparyed the heck out of the little area with the Violets and all the grass almost immediately died and of course, the little Violets. The yard in that spot has a little grass trying to come up. I have no idea what all that did to the soil and that company and I are still fighting over it.
Thank you for stopping in to say "Hi". I always enjoy the comments so much!
Have a fun weekend and a wonderful next week!
