Come For Tea...

I am so happy you could come and have tea with me this morning!

The tea is hot...would you like cream or a slice of lemon? We are having Jasmine tea today...

Do you take sugar?

I baked my special yellow cake.....I do hope you enjoy it!

You like my new damask napkins? Well, thank you....I found these in an antique store not long ago and thought they were pretty, too!

Having tea together is such fun....something I look forward to as I love tea and it is much more enjoyable sharing it with someone. My dear Granna and I would have tea and she would always get out the Lorna Doone cookies that we both enjoyed. They were always put on a pretty plate and even though she and Grandpa were then in a small apartment in San Diego with no formal dining room, just an eat in kitchen....tea was served in a pretty teapot with pretty cups and saucers. We would sit and talk and talk and talk. After we had our "spot" of tea, I would clean up for her and then we would either take a walk or sit and knit. Sometimes, I would help her with her laundry and hang it out for her. She and I knit sweaters and little booties, caps and just everthing my expected baby would need.
When I think of tea, I always have a picture of my beloved Granna in my mind as I am fixing a cup....such special warm memories.
Thank you for visiting and I hope you left feeling refreshed after your cup of Jasmine tea....come back soon....

Good morning my sweet friend,
I was just thinking of you and decided to stop by and lo and behold! you had your tea post up. How lovely of you to join me for tea! I love your pretty little teacup and your yellow cake looks divine! I take my tea black, thank you. But I do enjoy seeing the cream and sugar nearby when I'm sipping a cup of tea. Pretty place mat too. Wouldn't it be lovely to sit and chat over a cuppa? I loved hearing about tea with your Granna. Such lovely memories! Thank you for sharing, dear friend, and I wish you a delightful day.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hi Jil,
thank you for your visit and your sweet comment.
Now I was here and I really enjoyed it. Your loving memories are the sweetest. They are so special and nobody can ever take them away from you. And it is really true, it don't need anything expensive but a certain talent to make a simple tea time to a special event. Beside that you have very nice china. This tea pot is just cute and the tea cup is very charming. You love roses, do you?
Again, I enjoyed the tea with you with the fine china, the wonderful damask napkins and the lovely story. I hope your Grandparents had seen that expected baby.
I wish you the very best.
Greetings, Johanna

Oh I so enjoyed tea with you and Ganna this morning! Thanks for sharing such beauty. I have the same feelings about my Grandmother when I make bread. Come on over to the farm and have a slice!
Oh what beauty in the simple pleasures!
God bless.

Beautiful post Jil and I know it brought back many fond memories of a peaceful and more gentle way of life. I have such fond memmories of my grandmother as she was the one that raised me. I loved the days when you didn't have to lock your doors and kids could roam and play at their will. What a different world we live in today. Hugs, Pauline

Hi Jil, I thought I would stop by for that lovely cup of tea. Your post gave me so many beautiful memories today. I haven't been to visit for awhile. I am trying to get ready for my craft show so I have been busy working. I don't know about you but some days I just don't have enough hours in the day to do everything that I want to do. I hope your weather is as beautiful as mine. Truly fall with cool mornings and warm afternoon. Have a great day. Your Missouri Friend.
