Hello All and Happy Easter, Happy Spring and Happy Passover! This is a special Pink Saturday and when you go to Beverly's you will find all the pretty Springtime blogs to browse through....

Flowers from our gardens last year and the cross beside the road that we always watch for....I believe this one is in Missouri. Isn't it magnificent?

Spring is very slow in coming to us this year...right now it is raining, which I love, but it is chilly, chilly, chilly....which I don't love! I do hope that Sunday will have the sun shinning and warmer temps so all the children can have fun finding eggs outside.....so much more fun than finding them inside.

We will be celebrating just the two of us, but we have much to be thankful for. The West Texas fires swept through the town our Texas family lives in....Ft. Davis. It swept through the area of their home and when they were evacuated they went out on the highway where they could watch. It was all high flames fed by the high winds and dense smoke, but hours and hours later, when it all cleared, their home was OK! There was only a small bit under the fence in a portion of their property. Many were not so lucky....I believe, the last I heard 43 homes were lost in that area and sadly a fireman is in the burn unit of The University Medical Center in Lubbuck. He is fighting for his life with 60% of his body burned.....I hope you will remember to keep him in your prayers.....having been in the US Forest Service with my first husband, I know how treacherous and deadly even a grass fire can become!

And, another blessing....our Texas grandson has had the grafting on his hand completed this week. He is waiting to find out when he will be released to finish his therapy and recovery.....Three weeks ago he had a serious dirt bike accident where he wound up being air lifted to Lubbuck to The University Medical Center and that is where he is now after the surgery.....A freak accident caused him to fly over the handle bars with the bike landing on top of him. He was knocked unconscious and his unprotected hand rested on the hot exhaust pipe causing third degree burns on his hand and wrist. I know he learned a valuable lesson to always be wearing your safety gear...all of it, not just some of it. Thank heavens he had his helmet on or it could have been much, much worse!
This special young man graduates from college next month and has been accepted into the US Border Patrol and is waiting orders. We are all hoping and praying he will get his hand healed and working before they call....

So, these last few weeks have been a bit stressful, but with luck and prayers, all seems to be on the mend!

Wishing you all many blessings,
Jil

Always sad to hear of these fires and the damage that they cause.

I once had a 2nd degree burn on my hand after accidently pouring boiling water on it. I recovered okay, but I remember the pain from that and questioning at the time how people manage with burns like that or worse all over their body.

I hope your grandson and the fireman both have an easy recovery as possible.

I apologize, Jil. I missed the news of your grandson being injured. May he heal quickly & be safe. Texas did susffer some horrible fires that we did pray for their safety. Such tragedy for so many.

May you have an eggs-tra special Easter.

Hello dear Jil,
I'm so glad that your family didn't lose their home in the fire and I pray your grandson's hand will be good as new when he gets called to his job.
It's looking more like Spring here now and the grass is starting to turn green. It has been a long time coming! Thank you for sharing your lovely pinks and Happy Pink Saturday to you. I also wanted to thank you for the recipe. You were so kind to share it with me. Happy Easter to you and your loved ones.

Hi Jil,
So glad you stopped by. I do so miss our chats. Your blog is so beautiful.
Your story is very touching, my prayers are with you.
Spring is slowly arriving here as well... its been a chilly Spring Break to say the least. We had one nice day in the 80's.... but now back in the low 50's and cloudy.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
Debbie

Jill we will be praying with you for your precious GRAND as well as the fireman. We had terrible fires here just a few years ago and we so appreciated the bravery and dedication of the firemen and volunteers. (())

Hey there!

I love that white cross up there. It must be sterling white during the day.

I like chilly and rainy days. But Easter doesn't come too often.

You got bad news in here, hope both parties turn out okay/are okay.

Hi♬
This morning I've read your post, but I had guest today and was late to make a comment.
Oh, what a big lesson your grandson had from the accident!!! My late brother had similar one, though not so serious. Must have been scarred you so much.

Hope your grandson and the fireman both will be able to recover as quickly as possible.

Wish to enter Pink Saturday someday. Happy Pink Saturday!!!

Wonderful Easter Pictures♡♡♡

Such beautiful flowers, Jil! Spring is late in coming here, as well. There's a big Tulip Festival in town today...and I'm sorry to say there's not much blooming.

Have you ever been to the Bald Knob Cross in Illinois? It's a bit of a drive to reach it, but it's quite impressive.

What a special grandson you have! Border Patrol. Please tell this brave young man how grateful we are.

Bonnie was so pleased to see your comment on her post...and she sends you a great big smooch!

Have a lovely Easter!

Hi Jil, I'm so happy to know the Texas fire has "passed over" your dear family. I'm also happy grandson is doing well. Our son had a very serious motorcycle accident two years ago. I know how scary that is. But blessings come in many ways. Happy Easter blessings that continue for you and yours
