Whats New.....

Hello...I hope you are all having a great summer afternoon! I can't make up my mind whether to open more windows and forget the air conditioning, or close them all and just leave it on.....it is that kind of day. 82 degrees is not all that hot, but here in Michigan we have the humidity factor. : ( It can make it pretty miserable!
As you know SHABBY COTTAGE SHOPS is in their third day of Christmas In July. Todays feature is a cute Etsy Shop, 5 Dollar French Marche. I hope you will pop offer to see her wonderful offering with a free gift and free shipping, just for today only!

And besides painting all through the house, here is what I have been up to...

This is a darling vintage glass butter pat dish coupled with the sweetest small ( 3 1/2" ) vintage candlestick. Now it is a cute cupcake holder, faux or real as well as a votive candle holder.....The candlestick has a prettiest details...just click on the picture to make it larger....

And a pretty teacup and saucer I recently found....

You can see more HERE

I am thirsting for a glass of lemonade with a sprig of mint. Oh, I wish I had remembered to plant a little bit of it....We have the lemonade, just no mint, so I am off to pour a big glass with lots and lots of ice and then to find my paint brush!
Bye For Now....
Blowing Kisses....xxxx Jil

Hi Jil :) We still have the central air going in our house today, but I think we will be able to turn it off tomorrow, which will be nice....hate having to have the house all shut up in the summer; it's bad enough having to during the winter months. Did those nasty storms come your way yesterday? We were hit by the first round, but thankfully missed the 2nd round. Had a tree in the next yard come down across the road, so our driveway became a "turnaround" for everyone :( The county did get the tree all cleaned up and out of the road, thank goodness!

Hope you're enjoying your summer :)

Warmest hugs, from your fellow Michigander friend, Brenda

Hi Brenda,
How nice to hear from you! I was with Tom at the hospital. He was having a CT scan and I watched the storm approach on TV and hoped we would get home before it hit. It never hit. We had a few sprinkles and breezes and not one bit of thunder. It hit down in the Detroit area.
I am glad you missed the second round and glad no trees fell to damage your home.
Hasn't this been odd weather? Winter was wierd and summer so different. I have been lusting after the home grown tomatoes of out family owned famers market. We went there a couple of days ago and they are not even open! I guess all the rain and chilly weather hampered the corn and tomatoes. I was so looking forward to baskets of tomatoes, corn and Michigan's peaches. I don't think anyone has tasted a peach until they have one from here.

Off to walk down by the lake. It has cooled to 75 degrees and it feels sooooo good!
Hugs,
Jil
