Michigan Is Cold And Snowy This Pink Saturday.....

WELCOME!
And
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My computer had to go into the shop and I just got it back a couple of days ago. It was a shock to discover how much I am attached to it keeping up with friends, family and listing on my different sites. I am still pondering on this..........as I never expected to miss it so much! With no family around and the days cold, snowy and dark, I wonder, has the computer become my second family???? And, is this a sad thing or a good thing?

Anyway, I wanted to share with you, this Pink Saturday, my pink and rosy china that I just love. It is called Rose Chintz, and made in England by Johnson Bros. I have had this for many years, so you see I was loving roses and the cottage look years before it came into it's own. One of my very loved daughters-in-law ( I am blessed with two of them! ) started me on my way with a vegetable bowl that you see in the first picture. I still need/want a few more pieces such as the teapot and the sugar and creamer and, the salt and pepper and......I am sure I can think of more!

The china and depression glass are in a very old pie safe out of a kitchen in a long gone hotel in British Columbia near Vancouver. We lived in Blaine, Wa. for several years. I was so fortunate when I found this oldie. A friend took me to an antique dealer she knew, because I was looking for vintage display pieces for my little shop. When I told him what I needed he took me out to his barn to show me the very big and very old pie safe. I should have taken a before picture as it was sitting in over grown weeds and needed lots and lots of paint and TLC. It is one of my treasured pieces!

Do you see the pretty dinner bell in the front with the pretty pink roses? It says, To Mother With Love and was picked out and purchased by my adorable little daughter, with her own money. My "little" daughter is now grown with four precious children of her own!

Enjoy!

I thought I would share some of my things with pink that are hot off the press, too!

The first two pictures show a tote/diaper bag with recycled denim from a blouse grown too small, and lots of vintage touches and straps that have knotted ends OUTSIDE the bag. The generous pocket on the back is perfect the cel phone, sun glasses or keys. Two more pockets are inside.

Hi Jil!!!
I am so glad to have found you. I also live in snowy Michigan, Canton to be exact!

I too have the same Johnson Bro. Rose Chintz..I have collected many pieces after my mom kept a 4 piece set and gave me her remnants. I LOVE it and actually have pix of my table set with it for Christmas.

Then I see your cute Kitty..orange and white named Pumpkin..well I have 3 kitties, but one is orange and white and we named him PUNKIN. So close, huh?

Your creations are beautiful too!
Hope you can come by for a visit!
Happy Pink...Lorena

I am in love with your dinnerware. It is so divine. You know, I live in northern Maine, about 50 miles from the Canadian border, sort of out there. I am sort of isolated, and spend a lot of time on my computer....especially now with so much snow and such cold weather. I think it is a great way to meet new people and share ideas. It's a good thing! Hugs, Kathleen

I was admiring all your beautiful things pink when something felt very familiar... I scrolled back up and found your ebay name and realized I've purchased some of your lovelies on ebay! No wonder I love your pink post!

I've also been so close recently to purchasing that same china. Great minds obviously think alike.

Come visit the French Lique blog when you have an opportunity! So fun to find you here in blogland!
