Pink Saturday

Hello Sweet Pink Saturday Friends....
We would not have this day to celebrate our favorite color PINK if it were not for Beverly . She has lots of wonderful blogs for you to visit, just click on the link and you will be swept away to PINK heaven...

Did you all have a great week? I hope you had fun creating and maybe finding some wonderful treasures or like me, going thru some pictures and reliving some times past...

While I was going thru old pictures I came across a book from my childhood, given to me by one of my wonderful grandmothers....my Mom's Mom. The name of the book is "200 Best Loved Poems For Boys And Girls" compiled by Marjorie Barrows....Oh, the book is so old and the cover gone, (kind of like me...lol! ) the pages an amber color and some of the front pages in tatters....I remember my Grandmother reading to me and me memorizing my favorites. This is where I opened the book...

"Little Orphan Annie"
By
James Whitcomb Riley

Little Orphan Annie's come to our house to stay,
An' wash the cups and saucers up, an' brush the crumbs away,
An' shoo the chickens off the porch, an' dust the hearth an' sweep,
An' make the fire, an' bake the bread, an earn her board-an'-keep,
An' all us other children, when the supper things is done,
We set around the fire an' have the mostest fun
A-list-nin'to the witch tales 'at Annie tells about,
An' The Gobbl-uns 'at gits you
Ef you
Don't
Watch
Out!

There are four more verses and I used to love to hear this...just before I went to bed. lol! This is one of my favorites. Did you hear this poem growing up?

We have lots and lots of tea parties, but maybe it would be fun to share poems we love...A Poem Party??? Maybe a Tea Party with Poems??? If you think this might be fun and a bit different, let me know and I will try to learn how to do the Mr. Linky thing....

I haven't gone out in several days but I have been busy and here are a few things I have gotten finished...

Faux Cake on a beautiful plate

I listed this charmer on my website along with more china....~SOLD~

And this three piece set that is soooooo cute! The cloche is only 4 1/2" tall!

I would love for you to visit our website < THE RUFFLED ROSE where you will see these and much, much more!

It was a warm 14 degrees here today....More snow, a light dusting really, fell during the night....our driveway is a glaze of ice, even with the ice melting granules on it....we are enjoying all the birds that are at the feeders and the silly squirrels trying to steal all the seed they can, even when they have several ears of corn on the back porch...
Hope you are all enjoying winter...I will be so glad to hear the Phoebe sing again!
Smiles And Hugs,
Jil
