A Southern Belle Pink Saturday

Hello and Welcome to this weeks Pink Saturday....When leaving here, just pop on over to Beverly's to find all the other Pink loving blogs...Oh, the beautiful blogs you will see! Beverly would love to have you leave her a comment...she is our wonderful hostess and we thank her very much for her sweet dedication to our event! ♥

I thought I would a share a few of my Southern Belles.....I am not sure why I am so intrigued with them and sometimes spend far too much on them, but I do love them. And I am picky...I am a face snob, I guess, as I no matter how pretty the piece, if the face is not done well, I leave her.... on occasion I have taken out the stitching of the face and redone it, but I hate redoing another's work. It feels like trespassing!
*Please click on the pictures to see more detail*

These darling and pristine pillowslips can be found at My Website

Note the lovely bullion roses...
These Belles will be turned into pillows...maybe porch pillows as there is some yellowing in the middle of the runner...

And one...not in the pastels, but more in the Prairie Style....you will be able to purchase this in my Etsy Shop.
See a close up of the embroidery below....it is exquisite and not a stitch out of step!

I hope you enjoyed your little stroll through some of my Southen Belles....they are still out there, but pretty ones in perfect condition are getting more difficult to find!
I am so happy you stopped by and now I am off to visit you!
Blessings To All!
Jil ♥

Hi Jil,
These are so lovely! My mother did very beautiful embroidery work, but it's not something I've ever tried. I love the vintage pillowslips, too, though. I need to do a post of some of the Mom's work. Happy Pink Saturday!
Hugs, Cindy

I bought this design on a window curtain in an estate sale. The lady had made them into two panels and tied them back to show a southern belle image. I have no window they will fit. Guess I will find some use later. Love all of yours.

Jil, your beautiful post brought tears to my eyes. My late mother-in-law, Bebe, just loved these maidens with their bonnets! She had quite a collection of them herself and, like you, only picked up the prettiest ones. Thank you for sharing these with us.:)
p.s. many thanks for visiting me!

i love all your beautiful hand made items. my mother made me lots of these before I lost her. They are dear treasures. She was very confused when I asked her to do some with all white thread on white fabric. I don't know why? She was a dear and so are you. Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting, My Old Historic house. Richatd

Oh, these are so beautiful, Jil! I have several linens and they are such a treasure to have! What stories they must tell. I think the pink and green on white crocheted trim is my favorite...just think they were "shabby girls" back then and didn't even know it yet. =0)
Happy Pink Saturday!

Hi Jil - Such beauties! I remember as a child buying these prestamped pieces in Woolworth's or Kress's and hurrying home to work on them. Thanks so much for sharing your treasures with us. Happy Pink Saturday to you....Dru
