~PINK SATURDAY FUN~

Hello and Welcome To Pink Saturday. Please be sure and go to Beverly of How Sweet The Sound... our host for our weekly event, for a list of many lovely and entertaining blogs that celebrate the beautiful color PINK. Thank you, Beverly!

All week I have been enjoying the Burning Bushes that we have in the front of the house....I waited almost too long to take a picture as the leaves are falling fast now. They are lush and green in the summer months and then turn this lovely red in the Fall. Our red leans to the blue tone of red, my favorite, and I see many with the more orange tone too,.....I am sure it has to do with the mineral content of the soil, but no matter what the hue, they are all one of Fall's gorgeous gifts to us as they are truly a beautiful sight mixed with the golds and browns of fall!

And, while out in the yard I spotted a few sweet pale pink Geraniums still pleasing me with a few pretty blooms.

...And, truly, the last rose of summer giving us a gorgeous final show...
I cut the rose with the buds and it is opening prettily in the house. I am enjoying it so much and will sadly miss it when it is gone and will look forward to it's Spring return..
and one little Dianthus, or Sweet William not ready to give up for Old Man Winter....
The temperatures have been in the 40's this week and starting tomorrow we are supposed to have near 60 degree temps for a few days, so hubby and I will be out raking leaves, cutting back roses and making ready for Winter.....

Happy Pink Saturday and thank you to all that come visit and leave me such nice comments....
Enjoy the weekend and have a marvelous week!

WRITING WITH ONE HAND......

Welcome to PINK SATURDAY! This is the day that is so much fun for me, sitting in my "jammies" with a Dr. Pepper at hand cruising thru all the pink splendor! You will have fun too if you will just go to Beverly of How Sweet The Sound... and you will see the list for today....Thank You, Beverly for hosting this event for us!

Well, I did not get much made this week or anything else, for that matter! As I had just stepped away from my glue gun with a big hot glob of glue on what I was gluing, the breeze from the ceiling fan whipped it out of my hand smack down on my left index finger. All I can tell you is that it is not a pretty sight! I have never been burned like this and I have had so many glue gun burns on my fingers I have lost count. I have even spent a couple of nights in the guest room with two bowls of ice water on the floor and me on the bed on my stomach with a hand in each bowl for some relief!!! Sound familiar???

This burn is pretty good size and d-e-e-p!! There is even a small hole close to my nail! What did I do? My hubby heard my little groans and came running...got a small bowl and put Willards Water in it with water and in went my finger. Never heard of Willards Water? It is too complex for me to explain, but I hope you will Google it and you will be amazed at it's curative powers besides making everything grow lusher and bigger and vitamins more potent. I would not take it with medicine, tho. They use this amazing water in some burn units and once I learned about it I purchased some and found to my delight and relief that my glue gun burns were healed by the next day! Our home is never without it!!!!
This burn, however, is different and I imagine in a few days from now it will be better and the pain and swelling easing....thank heavens for Advil! And, for a dear and patient husband who has helped me around the house so much this week, even in MY kitchen!
So, with one hand I am doing this posting and I have to say I am getting faster and faster!

Here is a bit of pink from me for today.....some more of my pink roses that I have in pretty little vases all over the house. I think this will be the last blooming, altho I do see more buds......How I will miss them when their blooming is over!

And the two stockings I managed to make:

SOLD
These can be found at my EBAY

And Todays:

Have a safe and happy week and if you are creating....be careful with the glue gun!!!!

PRETTY PINK SATURDAY

Hello and Welcome.......I am so happy you stopped by this PINK SATURDAY and please go to BEVERLY AT HOW SWEET THE SOUND for this Saturday's list of "pinkies" to visit. Don't we have fun?

I have been gone for the past month having a blissful time with grandchildren and a daughter. I didn't make it on last Saturday as we switched servers and OH MY! what a bloomin' mess. Hours on the phone trying to get things to work and a cranky router to deal with, too. My advice.....no matter how good the deal...DON'T CHANGE! I think it is starting to work, knock wood, .......

Then, one afternoon, a week ago, I finished up what I was doing on the computer and wondered what it took to change my ebay name. As if enough wasn't going on!! I went and looked, tried one of several names I wanted to see the availability of, hit SAVE, thinking this will save it for me if, at a later date I want to do this, and to my shock and dismay, I HAD A NEW EBAY ID!!!! agatheringofroses....... eBay was no help, I called them immediately, but they have a 30 day rule, and tears did not sway this callous man, so the 20th of September I will change it back to Adrianna's Boutique.

Why, you are asking did I want to change? I chose this name in the first place, as it is my given name and I never use it except for legal documents. No one, other than my family is able to pronounce it correctly with a soft A and the spelling, I believe, may throw people, too. Being an old family name, and liking it, I thought this the perfect place to get to use it. But in retrospect, I know it may be hard to remember and maybe, for many to spell, so I thought a change might be easier for people to remember, but NOT DURING THE CHRISTMAS BUYING SEASON!!!

And, while I love this new name, it is a bit too close to another's and confusing the customer was not in my game plan, either!! :-)

Anyway, three more weeks to go and this blunder will go away!

Here is a name I have been toying with ..Adrianna's Say It With Roses...any opinions or should I stick to Adrianna's Boutique?? It is like rearranging furniture....you just get that itch for a change...

This pretty lass, in a bright pink top, is Jacque and one of my 11 darling granddaughters. She lives in the great state of Texas and starts her sophmore year in college this Fall......she is extremely independent and has many talents, including charming her Grandma! Love you, Jacque xo

This romantic Christmas Stocking has an adorable image by Frances Brudage....and is for sale at my auctions on EBAY As well as the lovely hanger cover, below.

These pretty covers are not only practical, but they make a pretty romantic accent as well.

Well, that is all for this Pink Saturday....if you have any ideas about my eBay ID, I am all ears!
Hugs and Kisses,
Jil

PINK SATURDAY

Yesterday, another woman lost a breast to cancer. I know her only slightly, as she and her family are good friends with one of our sons and his family.
She has a family, two daughters and a husband and she is a strong woman and will be a fighter thru this. She was once a CHIP. (California Highway Patrol)

Having been in her home and around her and hers from time to time, it was so sad for me knowing what she was going thru. It made me wish there was something I could do and there was..... I kept prayers going her way, this Thursday, as she was having the surgery, that all would be OK.

I checked with my daughter-in-law to see how she came thru it, and learned she is doing as well as can be expected after such an ordeal. The tumor was much larger than expected so they had to remove all her lymph nodes, instead of just one as they had hoped for. Now, they are awaiting the results of the nodes.

This is a woman who always had her mamograms and her monthly self exams. She had had a cyst removed and when she found this lump the doctor thought it was scar tissue, but thank heavens he ordered more tests.

The reason I find I am compelled to write about this, is I realize none of us, as women, are safe from this insidious disease.....We must contiue to fight back by having our regular mamograms and do our monthly self exams and give, when we can, in the hopes they will soon find the cause and the cure! And...don't forget the amazing power of prayer, even doctors are now recognizing just how powerful prayer can be!

Won't it be wonderful to wake up one morning and find the headlines of the paper to read, Cure For Cancer Found!

**I hope each of you that visits my blog will click on the right, to give free mamograms to those that otherwise would not be able to have one!**Thank You!!

So, my post this beautiful Pink Saturday, is dedicated to all that have had to fight the battle, to those that have won the battle, to those who are still in the battle and to those that sadly did not win.

And now on a happier note....a little Pink thanks to Beverly of How Sweet The Sound... for being our host each and every Saturday! Thank you Bev...we love you! Be sure to visit her for the list of all the other delicious Pink blogs to visit and....Have Fun!

This is a very vintage little tart pan.....you would not belive what it looked like before my dear hubby cleaned it up, primed, and painted it.....PINK....of course! I added one of my little faux cupcakes and it is a cutie if I do say so myself!

You can find these two pretty collectible, but usable, pin cushions on EBAY

Thank you for coming by. I do enjoy reading all your comments!

CHEERS FOR THE RED WHITE AND BLUE AND HAPPY PINK SATURDAY, TOO

HAPPY 4th and WELCOME!
Be sure and visit Beverly of How Sweet The Sound... and all the sweet pink-a-licious blogs....thank you, Beverly for hosting this every single Saturday!

We painted our small cottage style bathroom a few days ago....I am so pleased with the pretty light robins eggs blue. It makes me think of the beach, and so I think of it as my beachy blue bathroom. The mirror I have had for over thirty years....I found it in a quaint antique shop up the coast from San Diego. It got a fresh coat of white paint to match all the crown molding, the wrap around shelf and all the rest of the trim in the bath. Of course we chose the hottest day with the highest humidity to do this! lol! The ceiling is done in the new paper that is embossed to look like tin. I love it! Wall paper on the ceiling in the bathroom, you are thinking? Yes! It does very well and painted is quite sturdy...even with the long hot showers.

The fanciful collectible pin cushion, the pretty sachets and the hanger cover can all by found on my EBAY I hope you will stop by for a visit.

I had a lot of enjoyment doing the silk ribbon embroidery over a piece of vintage crocheted doiley for this clothes cover.........It turned out too pretty to hide in the closet, don't you think?

Hope you all have a safe and fun 4th weekend and thank you for visiting today!
